Certification Information

Earning an HR certification is a long-term professional commitment that demonstrates to your peers, employees, and organization that you have mastered essential HR principles and are dedicated to staying up to date in your field. To achieve certification, you must first meet specific professional experience and education requirements before passing a rigorous exam. Maintaining your certification requires recertification every three years, ensuring that your knowledge and skills remain relevant in the ever-changing HR landscape. Once earned, you can proudly display your certification by including the credential after your name.

SHRM Recertification Information:

Earning your SHRM certification credential proves your competence in the HR field and your dedication to the profession. Maintaining the credential shows that you are committed to self-improvement, continued growth and development, and HR excellence.

With continuing education as its cornerstone, the SHRM recertification process supports your efforts to stay at the top of your game by maintaining your competence and relevance in the field, thereby maximizing the value of your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential.

Once certified, your recertification cycle begins the day you pass the exam and ends three years later, on the last day of your birth month. For more information about recertification cycles and fees, visit SHRM's website. Below are additional resources with information about recertifying with SHRM.
